Benjamin Vaughan: Founder/CEO
Benji Vaughan, a musician, record producer and entrepreneur, was diverted from reading economics by Twisted Records in 1998. Signed whilst at university, ten years of writing, recording and promotions followed with his own bands, and later as a partner at the label.
Through his work as an artist/producer and partner at Twisted Records Benji has witnessed first hand the huge changes the music industry has faced over the last decade. His experiences, whether playing to sold out crowds around the world, writing commercials for major brands such as Lamborghini and Nike or producing bands have been the inspiration for Disciple Media's technology.
Matthew Tilley: EVP, Business Development
Matthew Tilley (EVP, Business Development). Matthew joined Disciple to build on a 17 year run of success in the music business. He spent 10 years with Universal Music before moving to EMI in 2006 to become Senior Vice President, International Marketing for the company's US division. During his career Matthew led the international marketing efforts for a range of superstar artists including Katy Perry, Bon Jovi, The Killers, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Norah Jones, Joss Stone and Lenny Kravitz.
Matthew is a Brit who has lived in the New York area for 14 years but has kept his British accent. He is married with a son and enjoys getting up early on Saturdays to watch the English Premier League.
Jonathan Morris: CTO
Jonathan has held a variety of senior technology positions including CTO of FT.com, MD of EMEA & Asia Technology and Global Operations for Thomson Reuters, COO for Data Explorers, CEO of mobile services and applications company Box-69, and CEO for Ideascape and TheSwop (the only European company to make the finals of the Silicon Valley Techcrunch50 awards). He also brings significant experience of technology start-ups.
Jonathan regularly advises Private Equity firms on their technology investments, and often speaks at events in the European start-up scene.
Jonathan has a Bachelors degree in Music, studied finance at INSEAD, and lives in West Sussex with his wife and two children.
Marc Sheinman: Business Development
Marc went straight into the music industry from college, gaining early experience at independent record labels before working at Sony Music with some of the biggest artists on the roster, in both A&R and business affairs.
Subsequently Marc started his own management company and in 2009 joined forces with Jon Bailey to form Mums The Word Music Group. They merged with SEG Management in 2010 and now represent a portfolio of significant established artists, alongside some of the best new developing talent.
Jeremy Smith: CFO
Jeremy has 18 years finance and investment experience. Most recently he led the venture capital activity of GP Bullhound, a leading European technology-focused merchant bank, prior to which he co-founded Berkeley Energy, a private equity firm focused on renewable energy.
Jeremy started his career with CSFB. He is a Co-Founder, Trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committe of the Carbon Disclosure Project (a $155 trillion institutional investor collaborative) and a founder member of the Steering Committee of the Ibiza Preservation Fund.
A keen tennis player, skier and music listener, Jeremy lives in London with his wife and three children.
Helen Cook: EA to Directors/Business Development
Helen has worked for 10 years alongside high profile individuals in both personal and business environments across the worlds of music, events, fashion and entertainment. She is a power P.A with an extensive address book, which has thrown her into a split role of Executive Assistant and heading up Business Development for Disciple Lifestyle.
Helen now lives permanently in London after spending the last 10 years between Ibiza, London and extensive business travel.
Ben Morfoot: Head of Product
Ben joined Disciple from the consulting firm Accenture working in their Technology Consulting practise. Specialising in Social and Mobility he advised and delivered programmes of change for major FTSE 100 clients across financial services, energy, Government, pharmaceuticals and media & comms.
Ben holds a Bachelors degree in Physics and before coming into technology worked briefly for the UN Development Programme in Kosovo.
